He didn’t know they were cops when he shot them so he didn’t shoot thinking “I’m gonna stop these fukkin cops from harassing a breh” he just shot at some racist muthafukkas who ended up being cops. The fact that they ended up being dirty off duty corrupt cops probably saved him from going to jail anyway. If it was just 2 plumbers or something then the case might not have been dropped and who knows how the judge would have seen it.

No one is disputing the actual fact that he shot them just the important part that he DIDNT KNOW they were cops when he did it. Had they been in uniform or if he knew some other way for sure that they were cops then I don’t think he would be dumb enough to shoot because he’s knew a cop on duty will be taken more seriously by a judge or jury than a “gangsta rapper”

He didn’t get off because of “self defense” he got off because the off duty cops were “drunk” and stole a weapon from the evidence locker.
The cops wouldn’t be able to spin that so he got off.

I understand what you’re saying imo but it’s not really semantics when ppl say he shot two cops. They had a gun that was supposed to be in police custody and they clearly were on an ego trip since they thought they could harras innoecent motorists.
But if people said Tupac shot those guys because they were cops then you’d be right.
