I work in advertising and marketing. I run 2 anti-smoking campaigns in CA. Some of my friends work with the truth campaign and one of my dudes run the anti-smoking campaign with the kids rapping. Its smoke & mirrors - big tobacco/cigarette companies lost a lawsuit years ago and have to participate in corrective anti-smoking campaigns.Juul is owned by Phillip Morris. They're not the ones pushing the anti-vape thing. RJ Reynolds has their own line of vapes too.
The anti-vaping people are literally the same people as the anti-smoking lobby. My facebook is bombared with anti vaping ads from "Truth", for instance.
I don't support that at all, and they are intentionally being misleading by using the scare tactics based off illnesses from counterfeit marijuana cartridges (like you mentioned).
Imagine that, the big tobacco companies are also a part of the anti-smoking wave. So yes, when you see the truth campaign, big tobacco campaigns are funding a good piece of it and thus have a seat at the table.
Marketing 101 is to question how something ends up everywhere without accurate info (thats purposefully left out). Juul fukked the game up because it became accessible to impressionable kids. Hell some cities have banned vape products over a dozen deaths, forcing ppl back to cigarettes and exponentially more deaths.

Think vaping is so much safer than cigs, huffing 5 pods a day instead of a pack....meanwhile it’s just different garbage you’re ingesting

Use vaping to QUIT smoking all together (weaning down each week/bi-weekly)...NOT as a replacement for cigs
Weed NEVER did this to me
