Actually was the first thing that came to mind when the Pope announced he was stepping down. JPII was on his death bed and never resigned and now Benedict says he's getting to old for the job he worked his whole life to get. Something doesn't add up.

i was watching a special on the vatican and it stated that pope benedict requested to retire 8 years before he became pope and they denied his request. like its some blood in/blood out type shyt.
