no but quality, size and amenities of apartments vary greatly. many people prefer Brooklyn life to Manhattan life anyway.
I don't deny that.

I prefer the boroughs to Manhattan myself personally (though I like the Heights/Inwood).

That said I wouldn't want to live in a one bedroom in any borough for $4k-$5725k. I think that's ridiculous for Manhattan, much less one of the boroughs.

My rent is 1900 in a bed stuy brownstone apt with laundry and a private back yard.

Personally I can not afford 4-5k rent. However, there are a party in fort greene that are worth that in the context of this current market. Manhattan prices just aren’t the barometer they used to be

Yeah that's a nice deal.

I'd do that all day to live in BK.

For me, the most I'd be cool with spending for a 1 bedroom to live in a borough is $3,000/month and it would have to be a top notch neighborhood.

I just think back to what it used to cost to live in NYC, how it was then and how it is now, and just don't feel like it's worth it to me personally.

Obviously the market has changed, and many others feel like it's worth it.

the problem is the rest of the country went up crazy. Looked at 1800 apartments in Dallas and was like F that. That advantage to move somewhere “cheaper” has eroded
