Depends. A lot of software and hardware work out there. Like a sht ton of it.
All those slot machines, video poker machines, surveillance AI systems, etc need very smart people behind them. Even a lot of the digital games on monitors need dedicated developer teams since the casinos like to change their portfolio of games regularly.

Just take the flight. You can get southwest for under $150 as opposed to that 4 hr drive.
Last time I drove home from Vegas there was an accident and it took 8 hours. EIGHT.
Haven't driven to Vegas since and never will.

Was roughly 6 hours drive, no traffic, yes it's a "boring" drive but all of the desert areas are like that, and it's not like I was planning on jumping out on the side of the road randomly so
music/podcasts/talk to whoever you're with, you shouldn't need to constantly be seeing stuff as you drive, that speaks to deep rooted ADHDIn fact I'd say only a small handful of regions have enjoyable "long" rides and it's usually because you see pretty mountains with waterfalls n shyt. Idk it's nice to be on the road with no distractions imo

have you never been on a road trip? you talking about 4-8 hours like that's something crazy, the drive from Atlanta to Miami is like 9-10 hours and families make that trip all the time, with kids, grandparents, no problem
a 4 hour drive is LIGHT work and you'd still have your own car in the city, telling someone to avoid that to fly is wild, you can leave at breakfast and still have the entire afternoon and evening free 
yeah i moved out here a few years ago, this post-covid inflation hit some people hard. wages didnt keep up with rent prices at all

I'm looking at a flight right now from Long Beach CA to Vegas and it's $59 if I leave at 2:55 on a Saturday afternoon. An early flight is $130.
It's cheaper than driving and it's less time consuming than driving 8 total hours without traffic. And the drive home from Vegas is the worst. Done partying and you gotta hit the road.
If you cool with sitting in a car that's you. It ain't for me.
There was a point where I was deciding between Miami, Houston, Orlando, or back to Jersey from Jacksonville. I was close to Houston, but decided to come back to the North East. Them IG women had it real close tho
