Take it from someone that cousins from North Chicago moved to Vegas back in the early 90s Vegas has always been a volatile place to live. Literally the whole city depends on gambling and whenever there is a economic turnover it gets hit hard. I remember when my sister thought about moving to vegas in the late 90s but they don't pay teachers enough to even afford to live there back then.

terrible place to raise a family too, if you're into that kinda thing :mjlol:

There isn’t a major city in the US that this hasn’t happened to.

the economy's fine, the worst thing that would happen is we'd become like any other big city, and have to put a state income tax/higher property taxes in place

right now gambling/the strip pays like a third of the state budget. vegas is like the only blue/purple place in the country with cheap property taxes and no state tax. property tax on my condo is 40 bucks a month :dead:

Keep hearing Houston ain’t it. Was considering moving to Texas for the warmth and family. Is Dallas the best city down there?
I wouldn’t move to Texas period
Albeit I did move to another red state
I actually have peace of mind
The three major cities ain’t what they used to be
I don’t count San Antonio cuz ain’t no nikka ever in history said
Man San Antonio is lit :mjlol:
I haven’t been to Dallas/Fort Worth in years so I can’t speak on them
But Austin and Houston
Houston changed dramatically and ain’t been the same since 2018
The influx of people thinking they going to go down there and eat/live a good life:francis:
Only to be hit with high property taxes if you own a home
Move into flood plains and not know it
Insurance premiums kicking ass
Cars getting broken into
Getting scammed out they draws
Job market just as tight as anywhere else
Hurricanes and heat for the majority of the year
Unreliable power grid and infrastructure
Them good old HTINE days been over
Austin was the shyt back in the day
Texas Relays and it actually being a weird place then gentrification came and the racism can be felt in the air
Yea, Yea I know Austin nikkas will call 🧢 but nah that place ain’t been the same since 15/16
To end this soliloquy, if you have any power, choice and better options to live
I wouldn’t move to any parts of Texas
Especially the political climate down there and the gerrymandering they trying to pull off
I moved to another red state but I’m in the country
Life has been better ten fold since I left Texas but I’m:flabbynsick:

I would live in Vegas. Seems like a decent mid sized city, especially if you don’t have kids.

I don’t work service industry as well so I’d be ok career wise.

Dating is probably hard with all the tourists tho.

Why would dating be hard with all the unemployed women with nothing to do?

Leaving Las Vegas right this moment. Spent the last three days gambling, seeing Boyz II Men and Backstreet. If you only go to shows, you'd think this place is busy, but conferences are being scaled back, the casinos aren't as busy as they normally are, and the restaurants have short wait times.

Won $1,100 tho :win:
