give yourself an extra pat on the back while people starve to death and die from treatable illnesses

so much to be glib about!

Maybe have some Assad and Un t-shirts pressed for good measure!

You're a real humanist!

Or watch a guy jail, intimidate, and kill people for opposing him and wanting livable items such as food ,medicine, and jobs

I chuckle at this American attempt. Because if not only the President of Venezuela but the Vice-President of Venezuela are deemed illegitimate because of the election, then the US just opened the door for Pelosi to be President as well. It was VP Pence that told Guaido that the Venezuelan constitution allowed him to become President. Well our Constitution allows the same for Pelosi.

But back to OP, if the US feels that way, then have the UN handle the elections and sanctions. There's no need for the US to be directly involved.

Trump nor Pence is running through country economically in the ground and jailing / killing detractors

Some of you really don't know what bad is ...

Nairn killed it on Democracy Now yesterday. Great interview.
I grew up listening to Democracy Now show, but this perspective is dumb as fukk.

Every nation tries to vy for outcomes that they want.

If this is just going to be a round about defense of Maduro you're missing the point.

I like how people are supposed to "not care" that it may be about oil.

So?

What do you want it to be over? Some other resource?

Oil is important. Its literally a large cause of WW1 and WW2. The shyt isn't just about "honor" :mjlol:

Legitimizing unelected presidents and forcing other countries to withold sovereign assets ...

We've seen this story and the fallout afterwards... and yet again here we are

It's in Venezuela democratic constitution , Maduro is coping pleas looking for a way out... he knows what he's been doing .

He's an interim solution , he would pave the way for new elections that are fair ...you guys aren't reading or just headline chasing

And what about the military? They may not hold for Maduro but that doesn’t mean they want to follow the US anointed leader. This is still Chavez country.

There will be new elections with monitors in place that's what is actually being put forth.

Only like 40%+ voted in the last election, a lot of parties boycotted, and there was still voter repression and ballot stuffing.

The election that made Maduro president wasn't legitimate.
