There will be new elections with monitors in place that's what is actually being put forth.

Only like 40%+ voted in the last election, a lot of parties boycotted, and there was still voter repression and ballot stuffing.

The election that made Maduro president wasn't legitimate.

That’s not exactly what I’m saying. Maduro is a symptom.

This is what we keep running into in the ME. Politicans say the people need to vote freely but then they choose political entities that further destabilize things or doesn’t see the future of the country as the US does.

Remember. Many people who will vote only have been of age with Chavez and Maduro as political figures. Chavez isn’t hated.

Are we okay with a military strongman who promises to restore Chavez vision?

And what about the military? They may not hold for Maduro but that doesn’t mean they want to follow the US anointed leader. This is still Chavez country.

It's not a US annointed leader. You guys at like the guy was hand picked by the US. Venezuela people picked him, he was elected in a free election and happened to be able to invoke a constitutional procedure due to Maduro 's ineffectiveness and corruption

The military will fold to the people except the generals that are being given high ranking positions in the government . But they also read the news and they aren't trying to have US problems ...thats why Maduro is falling back. IF US gets involved it would be over before Russia or China could do anything about it + they won't

It's in Venezuela democratic constitution , Maduro is coping pleas looking for a way out... he knows what he's been doing .

He's an interim solution , he would pave the way for new elections that are fair ...you guys aren't reading or just headline chasing

You are being purposely naive about US foreign policy ... I guess that 5,000 troops slip-up was for the gram :pachaha:

Nope the 5000 troops is quick action teams in case Maduro wants to get crazy . He's done and Colombia and other countries are support what's going on, nothing malicious except it's in everyone's best interest for an orderly transition

Breh, it's in Venezuela constitution , we are ensuring the democracy voted on by the people is upheld. This isn't Iraq :hhh:

Stop headline chasing and do your research, there's people in this thread more educated on the situation and you're being your namesake

You do realize the opposition requested the UN to not send observers in 2018 right? :mjlol: Request the UN to not send observers, boycott the elections that follow and claim the elections to be rigged because you didn't win :mjlol:

Headline chasing

They jailed or oppressed candidates and then when there was no one left Maduro was like yeah UN come observe the vote after I oppressed candidates and assured my win, so UN would validate the results that were already corrupted

I’m not necessarily talking about Guaido( I’m sure he’ll run too) If the point is to have new elections then the US/ American business is going to have a favored candidate and will work to help him. But there will be others who run or it won’t be an election.

When have you ever heard of an entire military rank-and-file going straight against its own leadership? There will be factions and divisions along lines we don’t know.

I don't think it will be that drastic , there is a "congress" that has been democratically elected .

I could be naive tho,
"Ensuring democracy" by seizing assets and telling the Brits to do so as well....:wow:

freezing assets of Maduro....and diverting them to Guaido and team. But but but ignore the Russian jetliner that has landed with the apparantly goal to pull gold blocks out the country.

like you're saying things that are counter to one another.

Maduro is an authoritative head of state, they froze his assets so he can't go on a rampage or do anything that could impact the country...and are enpowering democratically elected official(s). I don't get what your issue is. I'm all for US not meddling in everyones business, but we know how this would end....all the people would be dead or in jail right now if US hadn't intervened.
