We have to guess at the motivation for the U.S. when it decides to intervene somewhere because there are conflicting possibilities. With Trump he and his administration have made it quite clear what their intentions are and how they would screw it all up.

Both Trump and Bolton have basically said that oil is the primary reason for American interest, not the people there. Trump has railed against the left in Venezuela saying it will die and liberty reborn, despite Guido being on the left. So it goes to reason that if Trump's US were to intervene in Venezuela they would work hard to ensure that a left wing government doesn't rise to power or try to quash any socialist policies that the government would try to implement. Neither of these are in the interest of the Venezuelan people.

With the Trump administration we have racist and incompetent leadership on top of those racist policies. They have demonstrated their incompetence in situations that were set up for them to do better in like Syria and yet they have managed to screw that up. So I am against intervention in Venezuela because the current U.S. leadership, which would be leading the charge, does not leave me with any confidence that the needs of the people of Venezuela will be met.

it's funny that damn near all Venezuelans online that oppose Maduro are the rich white middle and upper class, and most of them dont even live there lmfao.

I’m seeing these same people

1. Begging Rubio, Pompeo, Bolton, Trump and Pence on Twitter for a military intervention.

2. They’re criticizing Guaido for not wanting to end relations with China, Iran, Cuba and Russia :russ:

3. Criticizing Guaido for not being right wing enough. Do they not realize his party, Popular Will, is Center Left? You ain’t gonna eliminate Chavismo social welfare policies with Guaido. Some privatization sure, some neoliberal things of course. But this is the issue of a big tent opposition. If Maduro goes, the actual right wing is so small and not electorally competitive. :mjlol:

Do they really think it’ll go over well either domestically or overseas to invade a sovereign nation for no reason that involves us?

Also remember, Trump is Meeting Kim in Vietnam.

Why the fukk would be denuclearize when you have Bolton and Rubio blood lusting for regime change? :heh:

With his base, yes.

They're framing this as a war against the far left. Rubio has gone as far to say this is a proxy war with communist Cuba.
