CARACAS (Reuters) - Venezuela's state prosecutor's office said on Friday it would open an investigation into Juan Guaido after the interior minister presented photos on state television showing the opposition leader in the company of two suspected members of a Colombian drug-trafficking group.

Guaido on Friday said the two men had asked to take a photo with him when he secretly crossed into Colombia from Venezuela in February via an informal border route after a Venezuelan court had barred him from leaving the country.

Four family members of the drug trafficker who helped Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido enter Colombia have been massacred, a local investigator said Monday.

The massacre took place days after sociologist Wilfredo Cañizarez revealed images of the narcos posing with Guaido and local press began publishing evidence indicating that Venezuela’s opposition, the Colombian government and US authorities were colluding.

The investigator who has been investigating organized crime in the border area for twnty years, said Monday that “narcoparamilitaries of Los Rastrojos” tried to assassinate “Nandito,” the brother of “El Menor,” who also posed with Guaido on February 22, the day that the Venezuelan opposition leader entered Colombia.

They all over the Caribbean now. Especially in Trinidad and even the DR.

Yup. My job is about to work on a program to assist VZ migrants in Trinidad and Guyana. Guyana has been open and has done some things for people coming across despite the border dispute.

I met this Dutch Minister for Aruba a couple weeks back and she was talking about the migrants to the Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire... and how the Dutch are doing stuff but its tough due to language barrier.

Trinidad is much different...it hasn't done a lot for these migrants at all. Plus again, you have language barrier with Spanish speakers suddenly in an English speaking country so close by. Women being trafficked like no tomorrow..

BBC just produced this
