I think you'll find history has proven unequivocally again and again that people are inherently retarded. People, the vast majority of the time, vote for the most retarded of reasons - 'oh he seems so nice, I'm going to vote for him!' or 'my parents voted for this party, I'm going to do the same!' or 'that politician is my race/sex/hair colour/age/whateverthefukkelse, I'm going to vote for him!'.

Democracy is shyt but better then all of the other systems of government and all of that.

Dude, I'm a cynic trying to make a general political point. People everywhere don't know how to vote, or don't vote for rational reasons, or don't put much of any logical thought into who they are going to vote for. If you actually believe politicians get elected for objective reasons - because they are competent, lets say - then you are naive in the extreme and there is no hope for you.
