I had met a curator and finally my big break was here and it got dashed because I sent her my entire portfolio and it contained nudity.

Identify as a Black Disabled Heterosexual Artist and was told my art was, "increasingly explicit, offensive and disrespectful". The curator was also the head of African Art and African American Art, and since then has rubbed me wrong because all you see in fine art museums is nudity.

Then to make the matters worse, the curator was following black female artists who literally paint sex acts.

I'm telling you being a straight black man in the art world is tough and you catch hell just for showing your appreciation of the black female physique. I don't sit up and only paint nudity. I paint over shyt as well.

When it comes to business/art, I honestly don’t wanna do anything where I have to deal with gatekeepers.

I know in some industries you kinda need those connections, but whenever possible, it’s always best to build your own audience, so you can do whatever you want to, unapologetically.

Yes this is true, but I worked extremely hard to get where I am at and sacrificed so much, and to finally get that one chance breh and be blown off cause you are a straight black man by another black woman because she thinks you are a pervert is a huge let down.
