I'll state it again. I think the art work is beautiful. I have no issues with it. But it is explicit. I can't see how you don't see it. You said that she said it was increasingly explicit. That is true. YOU used the words sexually explicit. That's different. I don't agree with her that it's offensive, but it may be offensive to her and that is what matters since she is the gatekeeper.

As a semi-outsider who doesn't know the in and outs (business/curatorial aspect) of the art world but who regularly goes to exhibitions I don't see why your art wouldn't be in those same exhibitions in Paris or Brussels (cities I know), from what I've seen. Maybe keep the nudity stuff under wraps until you're more established? I know it kind of sounds like self-censorship but at the same time as you unfortunately experienced the game isn't always a fair one.

Also from the answers I think brehs think that all the art you posted in the OP is yours lol

That's Kara Walker....the curator follows her. My art is the ones at the bottom.

The artists in the OP are West African Artists of Antiquity, Tschaballa Self and Kara Walker. My art is the big black areolas ones.

You probably gotta put the brush down and start layin' the foundation for somethin' outside the system.
I experienced somethin' like this in school couple years back. Was too nice for one of my writing classes and got chopped out.
I was probably going to do somethin' similar to be honest. Probably just to put my work out 'cause I already know they not gone fw it until it's hot.

It's been like that with black art... soon as they figure out how to monetize it, they spin the block.
Black women got they spaces and gatekeep, we gotta do the same.

That's why I been working with a black male art dealer now. Figure he can finesse things a bit more better than cause he is married with kids.

Ok I'll be honest. I thought all that shyt was yours. Didn't see the little tags. But even still, it doesn't change what I said. It's beautiful work and it is explicit. Not sexually explicit though. I also don't find offensive, but the lady does so really that's what counts. But yeah, I don't understand why yours would be problematic but the others aren't.
