I do that, but it's hard because I have an artwork that has been permenently collected and on display continuously for the past 4 yrs.

Start making miniatures of your art for portability:

And start slangin' like 15 - 20 pieces across the way in up north, Midwest and Mid-Atlantic.
Change your medium and go broader. Start usin' different techniques and styles in the smaller format.
Shyt, if I was still dedicated to becomin' an artist, I would have been doin' 8x10's framed in larger decorative details and laminate like 80 of them in a portfolio and take the book with me across the country slangin' to get my style out.
I had to drop out my writing program 'cause I wasn't feelin' them tellin' me they didn't understand my style. I understand my style. I know how to experiment with my style and learn how to improve my style. My style ain't academic, I thought the school was going to validate me. Validate yourself.

Real talk I love her art, but I went to the BMA with a woman who ain't an artist and it was Self's solo exhibit. The heterosexual Black Woman I was with verbally told me how uncomfortable she was.
