Also I'm shocked they're 35 and 36. Usually in tennis, female players hit their peak at in their mid 20s and retire by early 30s. At least back when I really use to be a tennis head.

They have a lot more years over their contemporaries b/c they didn't play the junior circuit. Also, V &S had some REAL competition back in the day. We're talking about the last great era of women's tennis - Davenport, Henin (that fukking Henin!!!), Clijsters, Hingis, and so on. So they learned how to compete at the elite level. Remember that crazy era when we had #1s who hadn't even won a Grand Slam?
