Verizon Fios etc Tri-State internet speed/companies

I'm thinking about changing to Verizon or another provider if there are any.

I have optimum and it's become status.
To top it off they told me if I paid more they'd turn my speed up.
They lied.



My download is 21mbs and upload is 2mbs.
That's trash right?

Anyone have Verizon? Is it any good speeds/cost etc? Are there any other options? I'm not in an area for Time Warner. I'm in Brooklyn.

20mb is more than passable if you don't have anything else in your area... I'm waiting on the 50mbps to get here so I can upgrade.

I just went from Fios to Optimum, cause it's cheaper and surprisingly no my speeds are about the same.

I see no real difference in my part of town, it's good cause I'm saving money. I don't like the interface on the program guide with Optimum compared to Fios tho, shyt looks like it was designed on windows 98'

well i have it paired with my fios TV so its around 119.99 a month but i have 15 bucks in monthly discounts for the 24 month contract so its around 108 bucks i pay..unless i order fights that bill was always under 100 bucks but when they start hitting me with the discounts i was like fukk it..ill pay more than a 100 for cable/internet ...with just the internet alone its 89.99 bucks a month..there's another quantum internet speed tier below the one i got thats like 20 dollars less...i forgot the speed though..but if you order all that shyt online they waive activation fees

Yeah I've got to look into it more. The thing is I can't get their cable so I have to use dish. I'm paying 70 or 80$ right now internet/ hd tv with some packages. The internet is the only thing I actually use though and what I have now sucks. I haven't turned my tv on in 6 months.
