The year 3030
There needs to be a limit on features

Lox used too many records from other ppl: BIG, Puff, X (at least 3), J-lo, Akon, Jay, Mariah, Nore, Rule

That really ain't fair when Dipset used all of their own music

dipset was free to use whatever they wanted

blame whoever chose what they wanted to perform.

cam could've done any of his features or album cuts, same with Lz, yimmy, etc.

why try to excuse their shyttiness?

LOX came in there proving why they in this hip-hop shyt....dips came in there giving no fukks

this easily could've beenb balenced better if dips cared.

this hapepned when Kiss went against Fab.

They both came out around 95.

Lox just had the bigger push with Bad Boy while Cam was in Children of the Corn.

Lox had a pretty big buzz even before they were signed.

They became huge and had a cult following through clue tapes.

I really want to know when can got booed. I didnt peep it.

the problem is jada is a slightly better lyricist than cam. And style is right there. Dipset cant compete with that.

plus they just had a bad performance.

That battle would never happen anyway. They are too different. I think she was mentioned because of it was brought up that Jada couldn't be beat and Missy has a catalog of solo songs, songs she's produced, features, and songs she's written for other artists that definitely make her formidable.
True. Plus if Missy was involved it would have drawn a different crowd. My two cents from watching these if that hard shyt and bars connects more than bangers (that lack hard shyt and bars). Missy isn’t a great rapper and doesn’t have any hard shyt.

Wherever nikkas need to be told on
That was a masterclass in hip-hop

I don’t know if Verzuz ever intended this to be a live showcase but damn if it ain’t jarring seeing a live performance versus lip-syncing—especially with how Jada was challenging them to rap

The Dips were not prepared for the energy the Lox brought—it was damn near confrontational and the Dips couldn’t do nothing with that

In terms of all-time great groups I don’t see how you can have the Dips over the Lox after that—and for this to be in New York it made it all the more glaring

I’ve been under appreciating Jada—he’s a true emcee and one of the best to do it; I think I had preferred Styles because I like his solo projects more but as far as the group it’s clear that Jada is the transmission

The Lox were the clear winners of the night—respect to Jada, Styles, and Sheek because that was a display of greatness

On what planet is Missy beating Jada?

let’s not get crazy. :whoa:

and I say that as someone who was 100% wrong about dipset vs lox. but cmon… missy is a different kinda beast in a verzuz format. I don’t think there are too many people in hip hop who want that smoke.

when you count her own joints, the joints she wrote for Aaliyah/SWV/total/keyshia cole/Monica/Ginuwine/Diddy/720 and others, AND the joints she produced for others… :damn:

lol, missy could drop three or four or possibly five different sets of 20 on nikkas heads.

leave that woman be. :russ:

nope quality all the way

that's why they stood the test of time. all the hot dudes who didn't particularly care about their song writing or stuck to current trends age the worst and fastest. Juelz was indeed a swag rapper but it took time for it to fully reveal itself on how much his flow and demeanour carried him at a young age.
I ain't saying shyt nobody ain't say or realize but man... Chemistry and professionalism can't be discounted

Exactly. At a time when every MC within a hip hop crew was to have bars.

Dip Set was loved by outta towners more than by New Yorkers and represent New York fell off rap yet were still relevant. Look at the design of their crew. It's all swag rap. They can't spit.

I think at first it was going to be some light jabs between the two camps, but then Jada really truly got upset cause these nikkas forgot they own lyrics, wasn't bringing the heat out at first, and it's supposed to be NY where this shyt popped off at. Not to mention people were watching everywhere, so they had to bring a show. I think he got pissed that Dipset was acting nonchalant. It took them nearly an hour for Dipset to start really getting into it. We were looking for that energy from the very beginning.
