There needs to be a limit on features

Lox used too many records from other ppl: BIG, Puff, X (at least 3), J-lo, Akon, Jay, Mariah, Nore, Rule

That really ain't fair when Dipset used all of their own music

hell no. dipset got no one to blame for that but themselves. they had counters. Cam has a Mariah record, three Kanye records, two joints with Pun, two DMX records, and a whole lot more (Just Fire, etc).

they just had a shytty set list.

meanwhile, jada was acting like he either a) knew the dipset playlist in advance, or b) took the time to sit down with his DJ and talk about the counters they were gonna play to certain dipset records.

that’s how his NY record gets a pop like it’s a counter record when they were going first the whole time. That’s called professionalism breh.

Uncertain grounds
One thing that came to mind as far as live performing is a those ad libs in dip songs dont hit they like they do in pure audio. Lox just hit you with non stop bars and acapella without the ad libs too make it more difficult for those songs to be performed live. Theyd have to be at the top of their game and clearly they were not

Felt really bad for Cam. He deserved better. He was out there. Juellz and Jim Jones couldn't at least stand next to Cam? Zeek was the only dude and no one knows Zeek. Zeek didn't even have any lines at all.

Nah. You’re getting it confused. Technician the DJ (the LOX DJ) was fire. nikka was killing the crowd with the classics. Dropping them on the one and going in and out of the songs expertly. Cutting and scratching were A1. Hit Em Up didn’t go over bad at all because he just played a few bars and bounced into a BIG joint. Tech is a beast and is not new to this. One of the best.

The music went left when the Dipset DJ took over. (I have no idea who he was) started playing random out of town joints. That nicca was terrible. He was so bad that Technician had to come back on and try to get the crowd back.

This highlights an underrated factor in this battle. The importance of the DJ. Lox old school approach vs Dipset rhyming over tracks and using and incompetent DJ that couldn’t even scratch properly. Back in the day, the DJ was just as important to rocking the crowd. You can tell the LOX and Technician have those routines down cold. Plus he knew what joints to play for them at the proper time. He was doing a lot of the rebuttaling himself and the LOX jump into action off the muscle memory.

Professionalism at its finest.

Naw, we not gon do that. Cam was acting funny. Didn't perform with his crew and didn't even walk out with them. Love Cam but we not gonna be giving son a pass. He looked weak out there. He was standing in the back with the crowd most the show, even when Dips songs were on.

I just named hip hop & r&b royalty and you act like that ain't a fkn cheat code

Their own records wasn't gonna carry them

I know the truth hurts
fukk outta here. Dip Set represents New York fell off swag rap. I've been saying this for over 15 years. New York wasn't feeling them like THAT. That was evidenced last night.

The Lox had New York heads singing their B-sides because that's how deep it's always been with NY 90s grime drug dealer rap when everyone in your crew had to know how to spit. Dip Set was swag rap outta towners loved more than New Yorkers.

KRS said it many moons ago...the true test of any MC will be on a stage and that's why Dips lost imo, style, impact and nostalgia can't sustain you for an entire show when there's some real Mc's next to you giving you a masterclass in performance, delivery and lyrics, they lost to superior MC's that take their craft serious.
The Dips were “All Show and No Go” like the old heads say.

That “too cool for school” swagger doesn’t translate in front of live crowds.
