Oh, I'm not saying he wasn't dope. I'm saying I don't think Ruck was being serious bigging him up back then. He was joking around the whole interview, from his responses to his top 5 favorite albums, to Annette Funicello's Greatest Hits album being one of the dopest albums ever.

I used to watch these interviews and videos all the time cuz this was obviously like 10-15yrs before Youtube was around.

There's a clip Duck Down uploaded on Youtube of that interview but the part where they were talking about Mr. Mike, Tela, and Suave House was at the very end of the interview and that part isn't uploaded.

I'm pretty sure one of my older brothers lost that VHS tape though cuz it had that Mad TV OJ sketch on it and I let him hold it since we all thought it was hilarious. He used to show it to his friends all the time and it ended up missing on some Raekwon's Killer tape shyt. :snoop:

Yo it’s crazy how Sean P really changed from being Ruck and playing the background to really later on championing the whole BCC movement. True legend.

I don't think Kane performed Another victory. Another favorite of mines from him is the Beef is on.

According to the Apple Music playlist he did. Verzuz Cheat Sheet: Big Daddy Kane x KRS-One.

"KRS played his classic cuts like ‘Criminal Minded’, ‘I’m Still #1’, ‘MCs Act Like They Don’t Know’, ‘The MC’, ‘Outta Here’, ‘Jack of Spades’, ‘My Philosophy’, ‘Super Hoe, ‘Jimmy’, ‘Part Time Suckers’, ‘Black Cop’, ‘Rapture’s Delight’, ‘Sound of The Police’, ‘Hip-Hop vs Rap’, ‘A Yea’ and more while Daddy Kane countered with ‘Just Rhymin’ with Biz’, ‘Rap Summary’, ‘Nuff Respect’, ‘I Get The Job Done’, ‘Mortal Combat’, ‘Raw’, ‘Pimpin Ain’t Easy’, ‘Smooth Operator, ‘Ain’t No Half Steppin’, ‘Warm It Up, Kane’, ‘Another Victory’ and more."

I listened to this before I saw the battle and found it to be quite the opposite with KRS. I do agree with the point about him relying on the crowd participation too much, but other than that...I can't complain.

He was hype, Mad Lion had the crowd jumping and so on.

I do agree with the points about Kane being fluid :dame: and composed but KRS put on a show! I'm not even a KRS fan, I like Kane more. Either way, I think whoever paid for this live got their moneys worth.

What determines who "won" a Verzuz to you? Just curious. Is it whose catalog is more known? Who performs their shyt better? Who gets more reaction from the viewers/audience? It seems like a case by case thing with the couple I've watched...

With the Lox and Dipset is was about performance. With Fat Joe and Ja it was about the more familiar/remembered records. With Short and E-40 it wasn't about shyt, it was a party. With Kane and KRS it seems like for some it was only about whose records got more crowd reaction, performance meant nothing. shyt is tricky.

For me, I usually got it 70-80% figured out in my head before the Verzuz. It’s all about who has the records that mean more to me. So basically it’s all about catalog. But anything can happen on that stage. Maybe somebody plays all the wrong records? Maybe their performance is lacking? Maybe the crowd is really responding to a certain record? But even then, i have to respect the crowd and believe they share the same cultural sensibilities as me. With Joe and Ja, when the crowd no sold the I Shot Ya remix but lost their minds for Between You and Me, I knew this was a crowd that didn’t understand hip hop the way I did. Not to say anything is wrong with preferring that record, but it’s not what I’m about.
And even then, sometimes a song surprises you. When Rza played Run, I wasn’t expecting it, hadn’t listened to it in over a decade. But man it caught me off guard :wow:

As I’m looking at UFC 268 they are playing 50 Cent. All of a sudden it dawned on me.

Busta’s contender needs to be 50 Cent.
