Coulda should woulda lol. The thing is they’ve always known how to pivot to adapt with the times.
Set It Off
From Her Mama
Still Fly
Oh Yeah
Way Of Life
F**k You (this was big in the clubs)
Here goes the ENTIRE BET crowd going WILD singing along to “Way Of Life” in 2002
They also had the SQ mixtapes that a helped raise and influence a whole generation.
It ain’t CMR fault they knew how to stay relevant and NL fizzled out relatively quick![]()

They lost…
When they start talking about units sold… they know they lost… Man wasn’t nobody listening to “bang or ball”
we might've watched the same reactions...that shyt bothered me tooI watched some YouTubers' reaction to Cash Money versus No Limit. Mostly claim to be the biggest Cash Money fans, and they didn't even know the name of the song when CM played the "Rich N!ggaz" song, and many of them called this song, "We On Fire" shyt had me![]()

Still Fly is one of their signature hits, came out in ‘02…the album went platinum
What Happened to that Boy, another classic off a gold album, came out in ‘02
Mack 10’s Cash Money album came out in ‘01, went gold..:had one of WSC’s signature songs on it in Connected 4 Life
Slow Motion came out in ‘03 and was the #1 song in the country…the album Juvi the Great went platinum
The bolded is false because of two things
1. No Limit went bankrupt and P lost the catalog in the early 2000s…for all intents and purposes No Limit died and had been dead for something approaching 30 years
2. Baby has developed talent too many times, independently of each other, to just chalk up the labels longevity to just Wayne..there’s an entire generation of Cash Money with certified classics like Drag Em In the River that pre date the Hot Boy era…I don’t see a timeline where Cash Money has a couple year run and becomes an embarrassment for decades like P and his repeated hilarious attempts to rebuild NL
Hell, I don't think folks even make it pass the hook and before cutting that shyt off
That Mack 10 album was played by nobody in the South, they were literally giving that album away in NOLA at the time.
At you giving credit to Baby developing talent. Breh, everybody on Cash Money label were already "talented" when he signed them

Still Fly (I'll give you that)
What happened to that Boy doesn't get no play in the club at all today
Nothing from Mack 10 gets play in 2025, plus Mack 10 album did not get any play in the South.
Again, slow motion was Slim's song, Slim ate the whole song. Take Juvie off and it's all slim
Baby developed what talent? Name the artists?
I just gave you a time period 2000 - 2003. CMR label was on life support. All of the Hot Boys left and 2004 Wayne saved the label.
Hood Rich wasn't a banging album, Still Fly was a strong single, outside of that, nothing was standing on it's on during 2001 - 2003 (until Juvie got back on the label)
You mentioned "what happened to that boy" that was an ok single and the Clipse made that song (who was hot at the time) and Baby album was a brick. That wasn't a strong album from him and Lights Out was ass. Nobody cuts on What happened to that Boy to listen to Baby spitHell, I don't think folks even make it pass the hook and before cutting that shyt off
The only strong single I'll give you credit for is "Still Fly"
Lol @ the fact you tried to squeeze in Mack 10 album to strengthen your stance is laughableThat Mack 10 album was played by nobody in the South, they were literally giving that album away in NOLA at the time.
At you giving credit to Baby developing talent. Breh, everybody on Cash Money label were already "talented" when he signed them
From 1st Gen, UNLV, Pimp Daddy, Lil Slim, Magnolia Shorty (who wasn't signed technically but affiliated) and others to 2nd Gen Cash Money, Juvenile was already going, BG was talented, Wayne, and Turk and lil Derrick,
Baby didn't do anything but told them to rap about these topics, and that came from just living in the New Orleans (we need a song to put on the radio) and most of that was from Mannie (the producer)
Baby aint developing no talent, that dude put out albums like any other hood CEO at the time..
Like I said, CMR was on life support, especially when the Hot Boys left.
PS. Still Fly only was made because Mannie stayed at it, the beat was passed over many times because of the horns in the song and he finally convinced Baby to get on the song
I love how you all like to re-write history. Cash Money was in the same boat as No Limit.
Don't let me get started on Wayne's 500 degree album, another brick, along with Big Money Heavyweight, another brick, top off with Mannie fresh album
All albums had good radio singles, but when you got into the meat of the album after the radio single, bricks
BG - Checkmate (no good single) and the album was a brick, maybe his worse album out of his catalog, Turk album a brick,
That's why nobody talks about that 2000-2003 CMR era. Outside of the "singles" Bricks
2000-2003 (before juvie came back to save the label) CMR was putting out just if not the same amount of bricks that NL was putting out album wise

They lost…
But I’ll post some of my favorite cash money tracks
“I ain’t pickin cotton for no redneck bytch”

one of the hardest beats everrrrrrr man fuc i loved this chit !

Bro you asked a simple question, what hits did they have during that period and I listed multiple gold and platinum albums and singles throughout that entire era…. How the hell is that anywhere comparable to No Limit that LITERALLY went bankrupt and defunct during that period
What the hell is all this juelzing![]()
P had 5th Ward Weebie, 504 Boyz album during that 2000-2003 period and he had some albums that were brick.
All I am saying is both camps were on life support. CMR had a big single with Still Fly, NL had a big single with Wobble Wobble and Rock the Boat, Ohh Wee was big when that came out, Romeo was out during that time.. Like I stated if NL was in the pits, CMR was in there with them or near by.
Yall love re-writing history on this board.
We supposed to overlook Romeo success and 5th Ward Weebie singles that they made under NL during that time
Both labels lights were bout to be turned off.
