Shouldve been in Louisiana anywhere, or Houston. I dont know how anyone outside of Louisiana can really judge this fairly. These versus crowds be young and dumb. You have to be at least 42 to really know and understand the History of NL and CMR. I was like 14 barely off the porch when my big brother bought B.G It's On on you Vol 1. This Summer 97. That was my first time listtening to a whole CM album. Everybody was bumping UNLV in 96. Even Kilo G before then. But I was to young and broke to buy tapes and cds. My uncle had a club and Cash Money came thru back in 97, this before Juvenile blew, this when Solja was HOT!!! I was in there, 16 years old in the club everything Thursday college night. That's probably why I dj now. You had to be there bruh!!
Personally I can't really judge it, they're so different. Old Testament vs New Testament. No Limit wasnt flashy and had some serious thought provoking songs. Actually Juvenile album Solja Rags and those UNLV albums is very similar to a No Limit albums. Cash Money changed after that first Big Tymers album, it started being all about money after that.
I really do think they shouldnt use any songs after Carter 1, maybe 2. Cuz after that, their sound took a big turn. Actually, After Juvie and BG, left is wasn't really Cash Money as we knew anymore. Wasnt even Louisiana Music no more
