Folks on YouTube are really caping hard for this guy. You can feel like what Akademiks does is good in general and still criticize him.

Folks really saying because he was clowning the dumb reckless kids in Chicago and "wasn't generalizing the entire population" its ok. They keep calling it just satire. When a great deal of your coverage and commentary is calling a bunch of young black men c00ns and using nicknames as they get senselessly killed, it'll come across like you are essentially mocking them for their stupidity. There's nothing constructive out of that language. The folks that only see it as just jokes really have some maturing to do. I don't get this media personality thing being some kind of shield. By being one, you should know that your words matter. If he wants to market himself as a kind of hip hop journalist, then he needs to have journalistic integrity.

Personally I always saw those vids as Ak treating it like a safari expedition in Chiraq because they came across like those folks were just animals in the wild and here's how they died as he spoke as loosely as those kids did.
I don't listen to his videos that much but he's basically like the CNN/Fox News if hiphop. How you hate the news guy but rock with Akademiks? They both just there for the check

ak chiraq series did have the war in chicago sounding like WWE. i really had friends that would talk about it excitedly like it was a tv show. " yo did u hear about rondo number 9 and lil jojo ! :gladbron:"

he did glorify real serious situations and was damn near playing detective on youtube piecing murders together. on the other side, if mensa gonna be mad he also has to be mad at all the people rapping about it to make a dollar as well. i respect vic for speaking up like a man tho :salute:

Vic had every right to check him. But some of ya'll are sounding real hypocritical right now being so outraged by Ak's Chiraq coverage when I see threads on here routinely clowning and gossiping about rappers and street shyt. Would ya'll have the balls to say it on a public platform with your face shown, let alone to a rapper's face? :jbhmm:

I took it as him expressing his feelings at the time he watched that video about his friend. Vic wasn't going to say anything until Ak brought it up. Looks like he moved passed it

Vic was hot man...he was waiting. he couldn't look at Ak then when the time came he did what he did.
thats why i felt it was genuine but a little opportunistic at the same time.

in the first minutes of meeting him you would have expected him to say what he had to say, get it off his chest so they could then move on and do the show. i wouldn't be surprised if Vic got told about Wale appearance on there and was waiting to say something, maybe more than he wanted to because it did look like when he got going emotions took over a little bit.

i don't blame him though

:yeshrug:

but Ak, Budden and Complex got to watch because this then becomes the show were its ok to violate.
Ak is a whole clown and looks like food and rappers already think Budden a clown and this show gets talked about the most when the guest confronts a member of the panel.

If ak was smart he'd do like desus & mero did and use complex as a stepping stone to bigger and better things.
i think this was the plan for Ak and Joe but Ak is looking funny in the light

He doesn't have the personality for tv

He was 100% right to get at him I don't think anyone disagrees.
What people are reacting to is the "I would of slapped you" talk. If you really wanted to slap him then just do it on/off camera, stop with the would've should've talk.

He did nothing before the cameras started rolling, shook Aks hand on camera then said I want to slap you. You had the opportunity to do it
:what: it wasnt about the "cameras" being on

It's the fact that they're on Complex's property, yall nikkas stay ignoring the obvious just to shyt on someone :snoop: Vic only saw Ak once he entered that building, he would've gotten locked up regardless if it was behind the scenes or not

All I know is the war in chiraq videos always clown the lame dumb nikkas doing lame dumb nikka shyt in general that goes on in chiraq.
Am I supposed to feel bad that this dude Vic Mensa takes offense to calling a spade a spade now.
This dude is literally whining because the spotlight is making all those dumb nikkas look really bad

Sorry akademiks is not generalizing chicago is putting a spotlight on all the fucboi nonsense that goes on there with the drill rappers. rondo number 9 and co should be made fun of not celebrated because its their "reality"
