No, I'm saying I respect his hustle in the same way I respect Lebron James' basketball talent or Mariah Carey's vocal talents. It's an acknowledgement that is separate from any ethical judgment. That being said, he is a conniving, slimy, self-serving faux populist charlatan and I don't respect him personally.
of course al sharp is a lame but before we discuss what's wrong with him let's discuss what's wrong with the white power structure that gives him the platform to exist.
eventually, black ppl will smarten up to the al sharptons and jesse jacksons and when they stop being effective the racist white power structure will turn against them and throw them to the lions. and of course ppl, black and white, will be angry at them and take out their frustrations at them.
al sharp is a dummy and they got dirt on him so he gotta play the game to survive. it's too bad he's a snitch so i don't listen to anything he's got to say. i don't even understand why ppl even invite him to speak.
