I haven't read the article yet but I posted similar sentiments
after his dumb rant on Arsenio Hall :

While I'm not one to endorse that Hip Hop should be done one way, I will
say that what Cudi said the other night on Arsenio Hall was total bullshyt.
He didn't jsut stop at saying he's against "Money, Hoes and Clothes", he went
on to basically down the entire genre while simultaneously placing himself on a
pedestal.
It was when he posited that he's the only "rapper" ( a term I use loosely when
it comes to Kid Cudi) pushing the genre forward.
It was when he disparaged Hip Hop only to go on and suck off
Alt. Rock acts that he didn't look like someone who actually cared
about Hip Hop.

Also trying to pass off this valid criticism as just the writer being
a racist is fukking stupid.

exactly.. that's why kid cudi ain't shyt. dude isn't even a rapper or respects rap as a damn genre yet his bytch ass is exploiting it to promote his garbage. he's on some other shyt completely. whatever the fukk he's doing ain't rap and i think he's insulting us rap fans by trying to use our lane to promote his garbage. he thinks we're stupid so for him to come out of nowhere and make these dumb ass criticism about our shyt is dumb. he needs to stick with his rock or alternative music lane or whichever genre understands his weird ass music.

Thank you. You took words right out of my mouth.

He's no different to cac writers who try to paint Macklemore as the one "evolved" rapper in a genre full of savages.

c00nery at its finest. Done with this mumbling junkie.

yes and watch how many folks run behind that idiot cudi when basically dissed them for being rap fans.

Cacity cac...
They all want us to stay in one lane, they get off to that shyt, seeing a bunch of little nikkas with no shirts on all in the video jumping around with guns in hand.

We don't need freedom, we need structure. There's nothing wrong with a Side A: Conscious music and a Side B: Busting Guns music.

Kid Cuddi is in no shape or form similar to Drake, Cuddi has more depth.

Cuddi was right in the interview.

the bragging, money, sex, ice, cars, coke and hoes era is about to come to an end...very soon.

It's long overdue.

Mark my words.

Everything comes back full circle.

Watch and see how many of your current favorite rappers hop on the conscious train to try and sustain.

Stop letting cacs validate our music.

If they get off to ignorant black music, let them.

If Cuddi wants to express his views on the game, let him.

Yeah, they hate when black folk progress like Public Enemy or Brand Nubian. They want us in a state where they want us all broken and in pain for their enjoyment. That includes white folk and black folk too.

So once again, the establishment that benefits off of dumb nyggatry runs finds ways to shoot the messenger. It's gonna happen every single time.

Remember when Alicia Keys said whites invented gangsta rap in order to destroy the minds of black youth and profit, you had c00ns like Crooked I attacking her? So she apologized, rendering her valid statement null.

Now you have somebody basically saying that rap = ignorant c00nery and to expect otherwise is pretentious and inauthentic. So this guy attacks him.

Sounds about right.

You see that, don't you? Even threads on here that worship the likes of Boosie's ignorant actions or talk about the latest street rapper and his tales of killing and false balling as "real" and if you don't agree, you are automatically labeled as a CAC or a Pastor James Manning. It is fukked up that the intelligent black person with a different (and a strong) opinion is hated upon and forced to conform in the realm on the land of the ignorant.

Cudi publicly having something negative to say about black culture, no matter how valid was always going to and did rub some negroes the wrong way. :manny: The article just captures those opinions, the opinions that were in the majority in the original Kid Cudi interview thread on this forum. But let a non black writer say the same shyt yall said all of sudden coli has a change of heart.

Don't agree with either the writer or Cudi.

I don't agree with Cudi because a) the most popular rappers are not on that steeze b) he was only saying so to push everyone else in the rap game down and elevate himself. I lost total respect for his statement when he didn't name anyone else pushing boundaries. c) his last few albums have been wack

Furthermore, he is similar to Drake. 808's & Heartbreak gave Drake a style to run with sonically and vocally and Cudi was a huge part of that project.

I don't agree with the writer because he's cac'ing.

As someone who spends time around CAC hipsters I can assure y'all they catch feeling when the music is about black upliftment. They don't wanna hear that shyt.

Also this new generation of 90's white kids who grew up with rap as a staple claim it is pop not black music... I hear this all the time. They feel entitled to the art form but don't care for its history. So now when an artist is pro black they are called racist in hip hop lmao.

A lot of people in this thread should check out Odissee "Tangible Dream" album. Its the perfect blend of intelligent but real rap in my opinion.:myman:

Also just to put it in perspective minstrel show rap really got big about a decade ago in the mainstream with Lil Jon. These new dudes are just a continuation of that. I tell people all the time it was so blatant a minstrel show it should of been protested. The East Sidaz Lil Jon's group was Big Sam and Lil Bo. :ohhh:

His hype men were Sambos bruhs :damn: and we just danced along to the skeet skeet chorus like it was nothing:what:

At least you see that. The most hated person in America is the famous Pro-Black artist. He is less respected than a child molester.
