If you don't think Vick inspired these current QB's ...
And who inspired Vick?

Folk forget that Steve Young was pretty much a running back playing QB when he first came out. His game got refined as he got older. Steve stayed running when he didn't need to. A lot of the Vick stans are younger and probably don't remember. Cuningham was another one. Elway wasn't a burner but even he ran and juked nikkaz. Vick was just a refreshing change at the time from all the pocket passing statues. He also had some highlight reel runs.

I love Young like you my Niner breh.... But I'd have to give it more to Randall than Young.

Randall always had that swag and looked so smooth when he took off our nicca Steve looked like he was terrified and sometimes kinda goofy like his infamous run against the Vikes when he stumbled over his feet and tripped into the endzone after a 60 yard break.

I will never forget that Randall scramble against the Giants when this dude POPPED him and thought he took 12 down but Randall kinda sprawled on the dude and popped back up and threw a 30 yard laser!!

:russ: @ KAP being pass first.....

Prove that he's a run first QB. Just because you run a lot doesn't mean you're a run first QB. Russ srambles a lot but he isn't a run first QB. Neither are any of the "running" QBs.

Back in 01 and 02 when Reeves was running the pro-set offense Vick made plays I aint never seen any other QB make including Cunningham and Young.

There was one play against the Saints in 02 where he was scrambling to his left and fired a 50 yard laser that never got above 5-7 feet off the ground. It was a perfect strike to Terrance Mathis in the endzone. I swear I was :ohhh:for about 10 minures. It was more impressive than all his runs.

It was a receiver named Trevor Gaylor actually. That same season, in the N.O., we had the Falcons stopped on 3rd Down late in the 4th Quarter, with the score close, and Vick ran a QB Draw for a 32 yard touchdown UNTOUCHED!!! :wow::to: In 2002, Vick gave both the Saints and Panthers that work, but he could not do shyt against the Buccaneers.

Steve wasn't as refined or swagged out as Randall...but cot damn that dude could run his ass off.

Like people said before, Steve Young......Randal Cunningham.

Vick been sounding more and more like a loser since becoming a Jet.

It's like he knows his career is over now, and he's trying to speak his legacy into existence.

Reality is, he was a very exciting, very average passer. He made a ton of mistakes, played wreckless and never lived up to his potential. Give it a rest Mike. You had about 3 good seasons, everything else was meh, goodbye and goodnight

Vick is right and wrong. He didn't necessarily start it, but he took it to a whole NEW level for sure.

Steve Young, Cunningham, were pocket passer that could scramble when needed, but they weren't full-fledged dedicated runners from the QB position like Vick.

I don't believe defenses were altering & creating new schemes to stop Young and Cunningham from running

But he revolutionized it in a bad way.

You don't want your QB playing like Vick. He was exciting, but overall he was not a good QB. The turnovers, the risking injury.

You look at guys like Russel and Kaepernick, and what they do great is what Vick didn't do, they don't turn the ball over and play safe when they run
