they didn't collect her DNA in the course of a investigation of a crime she committed. what they did was similar to what a lot of police do to black drivers who aren't suspected of any crime and got randomly get their plates ran.

it's similar to police stopping people for a "traffic violation" and searching the contents of their phone for criminal activities which has nothing to do with what initiated the stop in the first place.

Don’t commit felonies if you are worried about someone having your dna on file. You won’t be linked to any crimes that way

so you support the government fingerprinting and collecting DNA from every individual for the purpose of searching for criminals at a later date?

I don’t think you fully understood what you read
It’s a little different if she committed the crime AFTER the rape kit was taken. I thought they did the rape kit and found out she had previously been a part of a crime. I don’t know, I’m on the fence here. Just cause you got raped doesn’t mean you’re allowed to commit crimes in the future… but i also get why this is a slippery slope.

I’m just gonna sit this one out

They test DNA for a property crime...the fukk kinda property crime involves DNA?

Now if she killed or hurt someone, fair game.
Someone broke in my apartment once when I was living on the Westside. I had to file a report for the insurance claim. The cop said “I’ll write it up for you, but I’m gonna be honest….No one’s ever going to investigate this.”

Rich suburban cacs on the other hand….maybe. Maybe that bytch was bold and drank straight out of the milk jug before she left.

Yea. Why would any law abiding citizen give a flying fukk about how a felon gets linked to a crime they committed

fruit of the poisonous tree and parallel construction are two things that come to mind that shows that law abiding citizens have discussed and deliberated over how crime is investigated and prosecuted.

:pachaha::pachaha::pachaha::pachaha::pachaha: You're clearly missing the point. Say you visited someone's home the day before and a crime like murder was committed. Police sweep the scene and your dna is the only credible piece of evidence there. You don't have a proper alibi, then it's a wrap....especially if you're black :mjpls::mjpls:

But judge, I'm a law abiding citizen.:ufdup: The DNA database doesn't say so

-Breh, did YOU not read the exact sentence you underlined? The shyt literally says: "IDENTIFIED a woman... recently arrested" right before "based on DNA." Nothing about this was "ran a check on a whim" shyt like you said.

-Do you understand the actual topic & issue? This shyt isn't about them sitting around testing random DNA. It's about putting rape kit DNA into the database to use for other shyt like criminal charges when they feel like it. They don't want women to stop reports out of fear of being in the system & the shyt's unconstitutional.

-The whole point is whether DNA from a rape kit should be entered into the database at all. It wouldn't really matter if it was a past or future crime, it's tracking & identifying you.
