Victor Wembanyama is playing away from the basket, and I am concerned.

Basketball games are too expensive man.

I've been telling myself: this is the year I go to a Knicks game to see them play LeBron/Curry/Wemby/Whomever.

But MSG prices are insane and I just can't justify the cost. The tickets. Getting into the city. The time commitment.

Maybe I'm just too damn old.

I ended up going to a game because of our conversation this morning lol

LaMelo ain’t playing but Joel is back , and Maxey/Oubre. Jr looking great thru 1 half

We're witnessing one of the true game changers and nobody is really paying attention other than Spurs fans.

We were just talking about this in the barbershop last week.

Nobody is talking about dude anymore. But it seems like the NBA has moved on from hyping him up and they're focused on other dudes now. That's kinda how the league is now, with Silver running it. They hop from player to player to see who's gonna get the most fanfare from the viewers. You barely see them covering Wemby like they were last season.

Each young player the league has a chance to promote ultimately gets cannibalized by the way they're quadrupling down on squeezing every last drop out of Steph/Bron/KD while they still have them.

Yes he took 15 attempts cause who TF else on the Spurs can consistently show?

Breh a 7'4 video game character and you nikkas want him playing like Al Jefferson

:comeon:HE SHOOTS 61% FROM 2
AND 34% FROM 3
YET HE TAKES 9 2S
AND 9 3S PER GAME...

Feel free to tell me who should be shooting those 3s on the Spurs roster instead of Wemby

SA has only 2 reliable shooters (Champagnie and Vassell), his 3 point attempts are necessary

NOBODY SHOULD BE SHOOTING THEM.

THERES NO REASON
THE SPURS SHOULD BE
TAKING 40 THREES PER GM

As the homie @Stop_It_5 said above - it's partly because young stars canabalize one another for the spotlight, partly because the regular season hasn't really kicked into gear yet (Xmas day games basically signify that mark), partly because he's a foreign player in San Antonio and partly because there are 11 teams above .500 in the Western conference (including the Spurs).

The league is stacked with talent, and there's not enough space on stage for every star to get their rightful time in the spotlight because of it, especially if they're grouped together with other middling teams of equal ability, in small markets and don't have the American public behind them.

If Wemby was on the Knicks, he'd be one of the most talked about players. Their fans would quickly be turning him into the face of the league.
