I take that train from Canal to Jamaica frequently, never any seats, takes LONGER than the E or the F for that matter and they've had it shut down on the weekends. The only plus is that it's above ground and less homeless people stinking it up.

I live in Queens about 3 blocks from the J and I can't think of any reason I would take it unless specifically headed to Brooklyn. Even downtown is a stretch for me. It's an inhumanly long ride and they love to pull fukk sh!t on the weekends.

During Rush hour it has the skip stop service which makes it feel much shorter.

the skip stop on the J makes sense unlike the the old 1/9 skip stop which was a failure resulting in the 9 train being cancelled.

Yea the J train is for people heading to Brooklyn really.

The J train only makes 6 stops In Manhattan which are all in lower Manhattan.

But for downtown Brooklyn I would take the J to Broadway Junction and take the express A to Downtown Brooklyn.

I think there are actually a good amount of Central Americans in the area judging by some of the businesses in the area. The guy who was arrested is from El Salvador. I know some Salvadorans who live in Corona.
