What stops an inmate from immediately hitting an SNY yard once going to prison?

Let's say for instance an inmate wants to change his life around before going to prison, do you feel like they could do so by going to an SNY yard and participating in all the programs offered?

I know the threat of being seen as know good for going on that yard is deadly, so I don't want to downplay it, but is there any other consequence or reason why that can't happen?

what stops them ?? SNY is the lowest of the low. You’ll have no respect , not even from the guards

you can change your life in mainline, just depends on the yard

The ones in that system are already such. New Jersey has one of the most brutal prison systems especially with the gangs. Leery of calling Black males animals but, yep, they are that -->there. And many of these groups simply need to be put down once they demo they are willing participants in that kind of devaluing of another human's life. Which facility is that in Jersey, allegedly?
