Let's keep it stack. Music has fallen way the fukk off to the point that there aren't a whole stable of artists that are capable of that. Beyonce is one of a handful able to do that now.
Can you imagine if Beyonce had come out in the Mariah/Whitney/Madonna/Janet era? She'd just be some girl. All of them have records that will
never be touched, and this was back in the day when you had to actually go out and BUY shyt. Hell, Lemonade is just a watered down version of Rhythm Nation, and Janet was only 23 when that came out. Her golden era (Control to All for You) takes a steaming pile of shyt on ANYTHING Beyonce has ever done.
Don't get started on the OGs. You have Diana, who really started the whole black female multi-entertainer thing, if you ask me (singing, acting, endorsements, etc.) If we're talking all-time all-around GOATs, I would say that Diana passed it to Janet & Janet passed it to Bey.
And then you've got the pure soul singers...oh, gosh, we'd be here all day. You know Aretha Franklin won eight Best R&B Female Performer Grammys eight years in a row? Eight. Years. In a row. It's like...why the hell would you even bother cutting a record?
