I really don't understand the hype of Ed Sheeran. Like dude sounds like a struggling turd singing wise:scust:. Everytime his songs come on the radio, I just do this for a brief minute:

Eminem really ain't been "Eminem" since Encore.
For as bad as that album was, that was the last time he was "Eminem"
Everything post Encore has just been him being a parody of himself.
Forreal, even tho that album was trash it was the last time it felt like an Eminem album

Exactly.
The album was a pile of shyt.
But shyt, even with that said, the decent songs were better than the shyt he's come out with since them

Yellow Brick Road, Spend Some Time, Never Enough, Mockingbird, Toy Soldiers, Encore, Mosh >

Only Eminem song post Encore I can say was good is "Beautiful". That's it. Everything else has just sounded like a parody, bland, corny or wack.

To be fair Relapse kinda felt like an Eminem album even though it wasn't that good and was ruined by that stupid accent. It was completely produced by Dre and it didn't have him making corny love songs with pop stars like Beyonce, Ed Sheeran, and Rihanna in a blatant attempt to appeal to mainstream radio and get a hit. Every Em album before followed that formula. No guest spots outside of the Shady/Aftermath family and certainly no corny love songs with pop singers. But Relapse not getting the response he would've liked is what made him start making those songs in the first place because he didn't want to risk flopping again.

But Relapse had some flashes of the real Eminem on songs like Beautiful, My Mom, Deja Vu, Careful What You Wish For, and My darling. And then the Mariah Carey diss track that came out that year was fire too.

But everything post 2009 is borderline unlistenable.

Naw, I don't know. shyt was different.
It was Eminem *trying* to be Eminem. It was like a parody. Yeah, he was spitting but it just won't the same.
The accents he was doing was wack as shyt and annoying as fukk.
I think 1 thing was time has passed him by and so much was different in 2009 vs 2004 (when he had last dropped an album)
"Careful What You Wish For" sounded like an old song that probably had been around since Encore or a couple of years after it. Didn't sound relatively new

This is bland as fukk, like they went into this just for a check

Eminem abandoned his core fan base years ago, tragic

"Never Enough" goes hard. :ohlawd: Both Em and 50 took that beat to school.

All three bonus tracks were dope too. You had Eminem being political and smug to the point where he wondered how he still gets away with this stuff ("We As Americans"), you had introspective/emotional Eminem being as mature about his relationship with Kim as he could ("Love You More"), and then you just had a straight freestyle where he rapped about a bunch of different topics, but let you know you still couldn't fukk with him especially since he created an untouchable trio with Dre and 50 ("Ricky Ticky Toc").

I agree when Encore felt like the last stand for classic Eminem. To me, it started out pretty good and then went downhill with "Puke." I love Relapse, but on that album, he's being experimental, trying out different flows and voices. Plus, the subject matter does stop the album from having a higher status. But at least he's rapping with some confidence and riding the beats like he used to.

The only time classic Eminem has made an appearance for me is with "Groundhog Day."

Yeah, Encore was the last time Eminem was "Eminem".
You right, you had him trying, in his own way, to branch out and continue this more balanced range of songs on Encore w/ Mockingbird, Like Toy Soldiers, Mosh, We As Americans, Love You More, Crazy In Love, Spend Some Time....
It's never been the same since that album and nor could it ever be, I mean nothing stays the same.
I think him being really dependent on drugs was 1 thing, but then losing Proof was another thing.
Proof was really Em's guiding light and voice of reason.

But yeah, songs like Puke, My 1st Single, and Rain Man were horrible.

The last Eminem song I can say that was good was "Beautiful".
But as far as Eminem *being* "Eminem" and not it just being caricature of himself, Encore was the the end of an era.

Relapse, Recovery, The Marshall Mathers LP and now Revival are just shells of a man going through the motions.

Need to make more songs like don't front etc. He can't still rap when he wants to but keeps making these shytty pop songs.

The chloraseptic remix was better than the album
