Just heard this again yesterday for like the first time in like 10-15 yrs. Song is hard as fukk.

I was a teenager when this song released in 1994, and I'd just gotten out of the hospital for reconstructive foot surgery. I was sitting in my house alone watching MTV while my parents were dealing with a family crisis. I was in a bad place mentally, and this song legitimately freaked me out.

Looking back at it, I might have watched the actual premiere of the video.

I think if this song has a problem, it's the extremely dated references. The references to then-current events stick out like a sore thumb, and put a huge "MADE IN 1994" stamp on the whole thing:

"Get his ass whipped with 20 lashes like that dude up in Singapore"

"But I'm down with Dre like AC is down with OJ"

"Now I'm suicidal, just like Nirvana"

Pretty corny in hindsight.

I remember this being the holy grail of videos. It only came on after 11:30 pm on mtv, way after my bedtime . One of my friends saw it and said it was crazy and it had Pac in it. We didn’t believe him. I finally saw it and had to give my friend daps and apologize for calling him a liar It did make me mad that I couldn’t see the Murder was the Case movie until like 10 years later, due to our stores never having it for sale. Also to New Jack in ECW for whooping people’s’ azzes to this song every week
