I remember when Kobe was balling out that season and Grantland would post stories about Kobe's rapping career the next day, completely ignoring anything positive he was doing on the court carrying his squad to the playoffs

This here is embarrassing. I don't know how anyone who actually is rooting for the Cavs to win can defend this sort of defensive effort.

LeBron is telling us with his play that he doesn't actually care about beating the Celtics. He only cares about putting up good enough stats on offense to the media blames his teammates for the loss.

Funny thing about this is that Zach Lowe and Bill Simmons both now defend Lebron tooth and nail saying he's doing everything for the team so he's allowed to slack on defense. And even in the video Lowe provided Kobe was getting back but just got outhustled compared to how Lebron at times doesn't even cross halfcourt.

It's true Kobe had a lot of injuries but still in general when high level players get older they aren't the same defensively because they can impact a game way more as a perimeter player offensively than defensively, that's why Duncan offensively took a hit since he knew he could still impact the game at a high level defensively

James Harden has played way better defense than LeBron. Way better.

Yeah he wasn't really playing defense anymore but he was still D'ing up star PG's when needed, he had a whole week of locking up star guards that season I remember it clearly. And I justt remember one game in particular that year where Kobe did some amazing shyt and the next day Grantland published some article about Kobe trying to rap with Nas or something, basically clowning him.

personally i havent even been trippin all that much about Bron's defense like that. It's just that it's his fault his roster sucks so if he has no one to cover him, who's fault is it? The GM's? Nah...

Go listen that interview where Super Dave Osborne is telling Bill Simmons that John Wooden told him Kobe was the best player he ever saw in person. He asks Bill "Kobe just works so hard on the court. Do you watch him every night?" ( this was during the 2008-2009 season) and Bill was like "uhh well uhh dd-d-d-d uhh well yeah uhh yeah I mean he's playing really good right now". These fukking cornball cacs never even watched Kobe every game like that, just the TNT/ESPN games and obsessing over his FG% and shot selection, just like most of the Kobe haters on this forum..
