This is BS, people join gangs because of who they grew up with. The school that I went to was right in the middle of a BPS (Black P. Stone) hood from 90th to 95th street. BPS started recruited us around 12 years old. Everybody either stayed neutron or turned Stone once they hit 6th grade. It has nothing to do with being weak, it's about where you from (90th to 95th). Similarly the kids who went to the rival school to the East of us turned GD because that was a Gangster Disciple school. It wasn't because they were weak, they just grew up in a certain place. Joining a gang is a decision you make in your pre-teens based on being recruited by the older people around you not because you are afraid of somebody else. 11/12 year olds aren't thinking that deeply. And if you are shook, you shouldn't join a gang in Chicago anyway. New York is a different story I guess.
Unless I see him on some video like R Kelly or hear him say some shyt out of his own mouth I'm not going to go around acting like he's molesting children.
I feel like this "Pedo" shyt is sickening how anytime there's Tekashi, Game, Adam 22 or whoever you guys stretch the definition and grasp for straws and say it like that.
If you have sex with a kid as an adult you should be hung ( REGARDLESS OF GENDER). What an adult is does not have an exact age universally...people mature physically, emotionally, and mentally grow at different rates.
There is a reason the age of consent, the age for drinking and other rights vary through time and from one age to another.
Most people are afraid to tackle this issue because they are afraid of the backlash and title of pedophile.
I personally would hate to mistakenly look at an underaged woman that I mistake for a woman on the streets. However I think it would be absurd to hate someone for the rest of their life for an opinion or one statement.
Being a follower is being weak
Everybody wants to belong, it's human nature, if you're growing up in a gang infested neighborhood you will probably get your sense of belonging from that neighborhood gang/set, sadly. Also, wanting to be cool and down plays a huge part too. Lineage and all that plays a part too.
But being fearful is definitely heavy in the mix too, especially in prison. I'd say most of the guys who joined gangs in prison did it, at root, out of being afraid/p*ssy.

Yeah thats known facts. Typically you get into a gang for a few reasons..
1. Family vibe
2. Love vibe
3. Protection
4. Community vibe
Same as Any group vibe like church, emo, klan, sports team etc.
We all wanna be loved and we will accept any type of group love we see that will fulfill that void

To be honest if you not from LA, Chicago, or places that has gang culture deeply engrained into the community like those cities, there is no rationale reason to join a gang.

It's crazy cuz I know a lot of cats from LA and they didn't join a gang growing up in places like Compton, Inglewood, etc. So you still can get through life in the hood without officially joining a set in a city known for gangs. These cats in other cities do it for the clout IMO.
I know Chicago on another level too when it comes to gang culture.
