I don't like the term "Islamophobia" being associated with comments like the one that Ben Carson made. The meaning of phobia is to fear something disproportionate from the actual danger posed. When your electing a leader who will have influence over 300 million lives, you have to take that individual's ideologies very serious. So, if there is hard evidence to support the claim that a pure follower of the religion of Islam holds ideas incompatible with the constitution, then it isn't an irrational fear to state, I wouldn't support a Muslim unless some conditions be met, it's actually common sense.
