Harbaugh drafted a QB (Kaepernick) who would sit and learn while he squeezed every ounce of productivity out of Alex Smith. Who will start day 1? Give me some legit options.

first of all there is no stop gap qb. if the vikings dont draft the right qb. its over for speilman. either you trade up to get bridgewater or you hope bortles or manziel are there at 8 u take him. just cause your a rookie doesn't mean you have to sit. right now there's a lot of rookie qbs who i would start from day 1 over ponder or cassell. who do u see zimmer hiring as dc?? is tomsula (niners dline coach) even an option.

I can understand not wanting Ponder...but to say Cassel should be his replacement is . They both suck. But at least Ponder in the right O an add another dimension with his legs.

i hear what you're saying and thank you. but most vikings fans have lost all hope for ponder. so much that we don't even want the dude as a stop-gap.

if anything, i think cassel can play that role better until we get our rook up to speed in a year or two.
