The Clippers don't need Paul Pierce.

I can probably jump higher than he can these days.

That's cool. Pierce can still play though. I dont know know why he is choosing to stay and finish his career on a team where he cant get minutes. Pierce is one of the ultimate competitors.

Yep, I put that specific point in my post cause I knew someone was gonna question Vince's work ethic. How many players from 1998 - 2000 are still playing today? Vince might not be a gym rat, but theres no way you play till 40 and still be decent without a work ethic....

This. I don't care how gifted you are, you can't beat (or prolong the battle against) father time if you dont put in work.

it's called lifting weights etc....

so, i'm sure he's as strong as ever minus some lift because of knees...but he ain't working on his actual game to the degree of other greats that had his talent, which is the other part of the equation.

So what if he's not as hardworking as the Jordan, Kobes, etc.....? Alot people dogged his work ethic and assumed it was all talent(probably 70% talent, 30% work ethic). His work ethic is still pretty strong to be playing decently at 40, there's a reason he is one of six players in NBA history at 40 to score 20 or more in a game, not everybody can be the Jordan's, Kobes, Lebrons.........

Dude has is playing some of his best basketball in years. Averaging 11ppg, 5 rbs, 2 asts and shooting 47% from the field at 40 years old with two bad knees.

Just for reference last season he averaged 6 ppg, and the season before that 5 ppg. So he has basically DOUBLED his scoring average at 40.

this is cool, but fellow tarheel :mjpls: put up 20ppg at age 40. btw, VC ain't gonna hit 40 til january.
