According to the Masked Man podcast, rumor has it that WWE is considering

reforming the NWO as a way to get the Bullet Club guys together under a brand they already own the rights to and that would allow them to combat the BC shirts and Too Sweet gestures

They don't need anyone really.

I imagine they could get Nash for a quick rub if need be, but done creatively, they wouldn't even need to bother.

Getting AJ Styles, Finn, A&G, whoever else under the NWO banner would be a high-priority thing, they could think of something. With all the fukkery in wrestling, they can easily find a way to re-form NWO. They could film one of those old-fashioned WWE headquarters skits. Just have them rush the building and make a claim to the copyright or something... Or promote the group as more of like...a secret cabal or something. "It's forming again." Make the group more about the group and less about those individual members. This could work best if they were truly trying to promote the group as "taking over" the WWE.

People would forget about the formation within a week. What would matter would be the booking after.

I could actually see Zayn and Owens reforming the NWO. They are already booked as the "outsiders" on SD Live! They just need to be built up as a credible threat to Shane's regime for awhile and they need a third man from RAW (a main event face) or AJ Styles (same impact) to turn at WM to kick it off. A core Styles/Owens/Zayn NWO would be a neckbeard's dream. Add in The Bar as the group tag team and you have a good start. Of course they would need to be pushed hard for this to work and the Authority figures would all have to take Ls. No Bischoff's. If they need to have a power broker it needs to be someone from the sidelines/background. More of a DiBiase type.
