I can't tell you how much I resent this new generation. Rap and millennials don't mix.

I can tolerate Kendrick and Cole. Even if I feel their politics is a bit naive and idealist I will take that over a proud dumb nikka like asap or Kevin gates.

Also, earl sweatshirt had a chance but dude is a pretentious priveleged African and not a real nikka from America. Any nikka that go to private school in Samoa can't rep us correctly.

I was suspicious of Vincent staples early on. He was hanging with the dweeb hipster approved annoying rappers. You just knew his practiced unnafectedness and sourness was gonna be rewarded with high marks at pitchfork and on graduate student overeducated and lack of struggle Twitter. They was prolly gonna shyt on an earnest j Cole to big him up.


But fukk it. Something bout his vocals and tone and aesthetic made me give him a chance. I ain't a full convert. I can never 100 percent fk with a millennial rapper but he alongside Kendrick and Cole as someone worthy. His video prima Donna was dope as hell as well.

Agreed Vince Staples is nice. I had much higher hopes for him a year ago/a year and a half ago but I feel that since he's joined Def Jam his music has gone down the wrong road. Not taking away from what he's doing on the mic... but his production is just very... I dunno... I can't mess with the last two releases from him.
