Vince "gets" it. There's nothing invincible about his take of The Gangster, and it works so much better than a lot of gangsta shyt. You can hear the menace in his voice sure, but you can also hear the fear, paranoia, guilt, etc. The contradiction, one of the most important aspect of nearly every great rapper.
