Man, I can get down with this album.

This shyt go hard, but it has a summer feel to it. Almost reminds me of that Summer 2005 vibe.

It's a great blend of melodic sounds and spitting while the production is very catchy yet complex.

I like Vince a lot, and I like a lot of the records on this album, but there's not a lot to make you wanna came back to it. No big moments at all. It could've used a few joints like "Blue Suede" and "Hands Up" to pick up the pace. I think he wasted some of his best stuff on the first five songs on his EP.

I don't know much about Joey Fatts, but Aston Mattews 3:16 tape go dumb hard. Free DL as well.
fukk that fat fukk Aston Mathews, I ain't fukking with mexicans rapping and saying "nikka" dude ruined the song with that mediocre rapping. Dude made "Hang N Bang" trash. Hope his career never takes off.

This is a terrific album. Vince really achieves his goal of bringing you into his world of gangsterism and his personal conflicts with his lifestyle, informed by his observations and experiences.

This. This. This. Vince is doing "gangsta" rap in a much more creative way than 9/10 current rappers doing it

I finally had some time to listen to the album fully. The beats range from ok to great he has a decent flow and above average lyricism for what its worth. The only problem im having is idk if its because its a streamrip but his voice isnt compelling at all in a way he kinda blends in the background no matter what the beat is. really takes away from the album at the end of the day

No ID and DJ Dahi mainly. Ironically DJ Dahi was working with Kendrick initially, alongside Thundercat and other folks but for some reason Dahi didn't end up on the album. I wonder if there was some type of conflict. The other TDE producers stay in house but Dahi got some hits with Drake, did stuff for Sean and others. Maybe that led to him getting bounced.

I wonder how many of the No ID beats did Nas reject...
Dahi isn't a tde producer

First time listening to Vince, outside of Señorita, and I have to say, I haven't seen such a quasi-mainstream debut since LiveLoveAsap and So far gone. Seems to have that game-changing vibe to it.

I think Surf, Norf Norf, and Summertime are the truly outstanding songs. Norf Norf just sounds like nothing I've ever heard before, and credit to Vince, he seems to ride these darker beats quite well. I see him as a rap-version of the Weeknd - they both have similar vibes in their exploration of darker themes and tones - that Señorita video is something only a true psychotic mind could conjure up and actually follow through with.

Will be listening intently as he continues on this trajectory, hope he manages to continue with this questioning of priorities in gang culture...and see if he can make something as cohesive as this project - but with a little more polish in his rhymes...

''What's the price for a life in this dark world?''

''Either build or destroy, what you going for?''

''What means the world to you?
Is it a fast life, money and clothes?
Probably fukkin' these hoes
Or what would you murder for?
Will your name hold weight when the curtains close?
''
