Actually the angle was a bad idea for several reasons. People were turned off by them milking the war to sell wrestling, WM7 was moved to a smaller arena becuase they could only sell 17,000 tickets, and Sgt Slaughter was getting death threats and had to wear a bulletproof vest. Plus the war was over by the time wm7 came around

They should've seriously gone with the idea of the Hogan-Warrior rematch with Warrior as a heel. They had already given up on him as a top babyface so might as well offer the rematch up. Plus Slaughter was always just horrible.

They weren't going to turn Warrior. No one would have bought it. Hogan was getting stale by that point and you would have had a Cena reaction going on

Warrior as a bad guy was never going to happen and I doubt it was ever seriously considered, not in 91 at least.

don't think it would have suited the character either. the ultimate warrior doesn't take short cuts. he would never turn to the dark side... no matter what.
at best maybe he could have played the brooding antagonist, but not a full blown heel. i don't think anyone would have bought it.
