I swear to God I proposed the theory behind chat GPT half a decade before it was released to the public to my supervisor. This dude had at least two decades more experience than me in computer science, and I genuinely respected his opinion.

I thought my idea was revolutionary that a computer program could have AI responses based on publicly available data from the internet and for movies/media. I floated the idea to to my supervisor that the AI just needs to sound plausible based on context from previously defined movie scenes or music.


I swear to God, my supervisor started laughing and told me that's this is stupidest thing he's ever heard, and it would never work.



It's still burns my soul that if I had I been born with a trust fund, I could have been a billionaire off developing this idea. Inaa parallel world, I could have been one of the tech oligarchs that @O.Red is complaining about

The fact that you think yards aren't automated is showing how out of your element you are on this subject.

I'm not trying to diss you or your livelihood. My brother in law and my nephew are truck drivers. I have a Class B myself. I'm telling you and others because I am in middle management and actively see what fortune 500 companies are moving towards.

I actually left supply chain completely 6 months ago, because I see the writing on the wall unless you're a director or above. And I work in a fukking office.
