It was all perfect until that pesky Tupac came and ruined everything!

Wait til you tell them that the rise in popularity of "Gangsta rap" correlations with a national decreased in violent crime.

Being "real" is not a selling point of famous actors in violent film. It is one of if not the most important selling point of violent rap culture

I don't think ya'll making the point ya'll believe ya'll do.

Overwhelmingly, most of these newer dudes are from criminal backgrounds b4 they start rappin'

Sorry, drug dealers generally don't pick up the sax and do a Jazz album or take up Opera

Rap has the lowest point of entry for a novice to start from scratch

Interesting, isn't it? The vast gulf between reality and perception.

Black people and their need to justify murder music boggles me and . Like we really got to ask ourselves why we find this shyt so entertaining.

As for the differences between this movies is that we dont expect actors to be their roles. I mean how many italian actors are being wacked by the mob? Does robert downey jr have to worry about a purple giant killing him?

A better example is that it's like wrestling in the 80s and 90s where it was super violent and the wrestlers never broke character, which caused many idiots to think its real.

This is a song from a cast of people rapping about how their smoking on dead Black men. The Black men they're rapping about were all murdered by Black men and they're celebrating in these deaths.

What action movie would you compare this to?

I'm sure people in countries like Afghanistan and Vietnam feel the same way when they see how American media sanitizes and whitewashes the crimes America has committed against their people

Not saying one is less than the other, but action flicks are pretty notorious for glamorizing violence against minorities

Either misguided at best or pure propaganda at worst

Remember the original action movie, birth of a nation?

violent movies are made mostly by people who don't have any real world connection to the things portrayed on screen

violent music is being made by & for individuals in real life situations

it's inflammatory to real world situations

I’m pretty sure In every rap song they talk about “my nikkas” their brothers which they distinguish from “those nikkas” their opps or what you like to make excuse as for other genres as “villains”. Like…. The distinction is layed out in the verses in plain English but y’all skim music cuz Y’all want it to be one way so bad :mjlol:

You’re hyperfixating on ‘nikkas’ to play semantics, you good? Even then, let’s not act dudes don’t become opps over petty nonsense. You out here comparing killing a dude for pushing more weight to stopping a terrorist or some shyt, wtf.

I think both display the weirdo fascination with violence in American

Making that many Saw movies and them doing the numbers they did should have told people something.

You ever noticed how many women are obsessed with true crime related things? The choices in entertainment are really quite telling as they scratch a subconscious itch.

:ohhh: So you’re telling me that Joe Pesci, Isn’t really a mob boss!!!

Maybe. Maybe not:

I did the exact same thing you did and put words in quotation so ask yourself if you are good 👍🏽
Oh that’s that one way game you like to play lol
And also there are plenty of super popular movies where people are killed gratuitously, I’m sure Quentin Tarantino has been accused of that a lot.
Again, that one way shyt ain’t gonna lead nobody down the right path :wow:
