Viral or infectious pandemic is 1000x scarier than the fear of nuclear war or other risks

This has been my biggest 'global' fear for the longest time. You can negotiate yourself out of nuclear war...you can build

World wide epidemic of a superflu or other disease is some other shyt. and the way that everyone travels physically would move it VERY very quickly unlike spanish flu or plague. A fast spreading and killing flu or virus in China, India, NYC, is a very scary thought and would spread very swiftly.

Now, clearly advances in medicine and antibiotic treatments put us 1000 years ahead of the plague but viruses are like hackers; they're always one step ahead and that one step can kill everyone.

The "and theres nothing you can do" risks are the ones I really care about brehs.

But this is also part of the problem. We've been treated with antibiotics for every little illness for so long now, the antibiotics will eventually be useless treatments for newer versions of disease and that's what's really going to cause hell.

i purposefully don't take antibiotics or pop tylenol and whatnot for every ailment...i'm not a paranoid guy but at some point the human body has gotta WORK.

I don't get the joke. There are few major risks out there that can kill millions that you can't do anything about. Stuff like 'meteor hits earth' or 'next level earthquake'; this is one of them and is way more likely than any other.

you're using two different timetables to make your point salient

the dormant phase or "negotiation" phase of a nuclear war is the equivalent to the existence of a super bug in an isolated state

there is no reason to believe that a virus can wipe out the world as quickly and painfully as a nuclear war so I don't understand your fear
