Even if diagnosed it is hard to treat unless he gets committed and forcefully medicated which requires a hearing and solid proof that he is a danger to himself or others, after that, you would want to get a legal guardian to make medical decisions on his behalf. I am a psychiatric prescriber in forensics and I see men like this every day, they just haven't snapped yet and without solid evidence committing them and forcefully medicating them takes a lot of work and even after that, once back in the community they often don't stick to treatment and decompensate, starting the cycle anew.
