this is one of if not the realest and most sincere scenes of any movie of all time

there's so much goin' on in this scene:

a father steppin' down from his throne and now schoolin' his son to the world he once tried to keep him from
a father comin' to terms with his son followin' in his footsteps
a son comin' into his own and findin' his way by way of his dad's blueprint
a father now older, dealin' with health issues
a son, now older with a family of his own and enterin' a world he was sheltered from
etc etc

i understand man, this scene always catches me off guard because of the complexity of it all and because it comes off so natural

it's like your really viewin' a father and a son have this talk with all of these circumstances surroundin' them

it's a very, very, very well written scene, with 2 incredible actors who made their actin' appear very believable

Great scene. I love how they shift from the local (whoever the traitor is, barzini) to the global (senator Corleone, real strings of power). Almost a microcosm of the trilogy and journey Michael goes on.
