Voodoo or Brown Sugar?

This thread definitely been done before but I been rinsing these two legendary albums all week and man, I can’t help but enjoy Brown Sugar more. I don’t think that’s the popular opinion since Voodoo is the more experimental/unique album but Brown Sugar is just a much more enjoyable listen for me.

Hmm tough one Brown Sugar has my favourite D Angelo track(Lady) and has the nostalgia of my parents listening to it when I was a kid, but Voodoo might be the overall better album for me, I can’t call it.

Both classics. But I have to be in a certain mood to play Voodoo. Brown Sugar I can throw on anytime and just vibe out

Brown Sugar. Shorter and more potent, but you can't go wrong with either.

Voodoo is one of the best albums ever IMO so I'll go with it. Brown Sugar is great but I feel artistically he transcended on Voodoo. You hear the past, present, and future on it.

edit: but per the poll, voodoo. Brown sugar is a great album, but the highs on voodoo ascend those on BS and there’s more of a “spiritual” experience on voodoo - d’angelo, maxwell and erykah badu all made some god level music on their second albums, after putting out on the first, you could stick me with those 6 albums and I’d be the rest of my life.

Impossible to definitively pick but Voodoo’s production is better and I’m in an instrumental mood so I’ll say Voodoo
