Didn't beg for mercy maintained his innocence (Hopeing to appeal, though not looking good considering they have a conspiracy to pervert the course of justice case coming up in August)...whilst coaccused asked for leniency on sentencing.

Vybz Kartel has met his fate. After being found guilty of the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams following a 65-day trial last month, the Jamaican dancehall star has been sentenced to life in prison, The Gleaner reports. He must serve 35 years before becoming eligible for parole. The three other men convicted in the murder — Shawn “Shawn Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones and Andre St John — were all handed life sentences, too.

Kartel’s defense plans to appeal the decision, citing “discrepancies, inconsistencies, missing data, and mismanagement in the collection of evidence as well as the integrity of the evidence,” but it remains to be seen what success they’ll have.
