I said based on the first video provided that it isn’t going anywhere. Then someone said she lied about him coming behind the counter and I said we don’t know that it’s a lie (and that’s still not necessarily a reason to call the police, even if he did). Then I said why can’t we wait a couple days for it to play out before we jump to conclusions and have to backtrack (like we have before).

Furthermore, I have on numerous occasions mentioned my support for FBA even though I don’t always agree with the approach… not because it’s invalid but because it’s not always strategic enough. I also mentioned that I never saw myself as different from black Americans (as I was born in damn Fayetteville, NC went to all black schools most of my life, including HBCUs and was a military kid) until a few years ago when black Americans said I wasn’t one of them. And again, all of that is still fine because it’s your right to separate yourselves from us if that’s what you want.

But don’t try to come for me just because we disagree on the approach here… I’m all about playing a situation smart and not immediately reacting out of emotion. So again… why not wait till it all plays out. Then you can go hard once you have all the proof you need to bury them instead of risking making assumptions that end up not to be true.

No we don’t. The best we can make out is that she claimed that he had gone behind the counter before, but that he wasn’t there anymore. But either way, we don’t have any clue what happened before the phone call. He very well may have stepped behind the counter. Not that it necessarily deserves having the police called on you, but we don’t know if that’s a lie… unless you’ve seen more of the video than I have.

No, I simply pointed out that I don’t know the details of what happened because there’s no video of the exchange prior to her calling the police. The man didn’t say anything so I can’t be dismissive of him. My response was to the poster, not this man’s claim because we the OP didn’t have any video of the man saying anything.

All I said was wait before we speak up, so we can speak from knowledge and not assumptions. I automatically err on the side of black people in these cases but I’ve learned my lesson to not speak out until I have enough information to speak in mere facts. You can’t refute a fact.

I never said the woman was right or justified. I didn’t utter one word of support for her. The closest thing was implying that the guy may have gone behind the counter, and the guy never denied that when she said it. So again, it’s possible he did.
